Of All things.....

I went out this evening with the sole intent of buying Pat's Easter gift and that was it...I did get his Easter gift..and a little something extrfa just for me, but of course it needed accessories, and finding something that was right for me well...not always the easiest thing in the world, but I managed...Of all of the things I could have bought myself...I've been thinking about it for awhile....
I got a bicyle. It has bee years since I have owned one, the maiin reason being that I just don't trust my knee, so I got one for a good price and hopeully I will be able to build up my knee enough that I will be able to handle it, pehaps even be able to ride it back and forth to work sometime in the summer, who knows.
This is something that I have been thinking about for awhile and I haven't even mentioned it to Pat, but I really want to be able to ride a bike again, I used to enjoy being able to ride up to see Mema and Papa, or my friend Danna, or even once and a while to the (now) Red and White. It gave me a sense of personal freedom to be able to go under my own power, and hopefully if I can get my leg to co-operate with me I'll have that sense of freedom back again. I don't claim to know if I will be abe to for sure or not, I mean I don't even use my leg for swimming so.
Pat doesn't know I have the Bike, I'll tell him when he comes home tonight.

Don't worry Mom, the accessories I mentioned is the lock, the helmet and the gloves to protect my hands if I fall...*L*
Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you, I'll let you know how it goes.
Love to All.

Day Off #2

Well I am happy that I havent been called into work so far on my days of this week, Yesterday was my first day off after 6 shifts.
Larry is settling in nicely, just have to get him to stop going down stairs with Apt and leaving him presents. He has taken to sleepin gin y room which is fine, it means he isn't downstairs having ot be left in the dining room and shredding the door, which he did his first night here.

We were told originally that he was an adult dog betwen three and five years old, turns out he is only a year old. I am trying to train him to sit, stand on his hind legs and to shake hands....Hes doing good so far.

He had an appointment with the vet Tuesday to get a couple of shots and I have to take him back in April I do believe for another. But Pat willbe gone then and I have to figure out how I will be getting him there and back..I have time for that so I am not going to stress out over it.

I took him for his walk this morning...another dog ended up following us near the school, anice big one, when Larry heard it he started growling and got in between me and the other dog, he was not happy at all. I yelled for the other dog to get and got Larry out of there...

Anyway, gonna try to enjoiy this day off, despite the headache I've got.
Take care and Love to All.

...and then I got stepped on...

Hi everyone, worked last night and today so I will end up having a normal work week which equals a normal paycheck so go me. Larry comes home tommorow. YAY.
Every three months at work we have a drawing for a $250 gift card for Wal-Mart. Your name ony goes in when we make service times and if you are late once your name gets taken out for the entire three months, and the only way to get it back in is for when you are called in to cover someone's shift so regardless if service times are made for that day or not your name will be put in. If you win your name does not go in for the next drawing, which is fair.
I was informed when I went into work last night that the drawing was done yesterday afternoon and surprisingly I won. YAY me!
And then to top of my night I get walked all over.
Now this is actually a good thing. My back had been killing me for two days and I couldn't stand it anymore, so last night after work I asked Pat to plese walk on m,y back for me. He was so cute, he w as so sure that he was going to hurt me, but as I told him, I'm not that delicate, but still he was worried that he was going to hurt me...So I got changed for bed and layed down on my bedroom floor and told him where to put his feet and to use the his heels. He relunctantly stepped up onto my back. It felt so good once my back finally cracked, I let him know when it was good and he stepped off and I just kind of stayed there for a moment...I think he thought he hurt me, but I popped righht up and asked him if he could please rub my back a bit so I could relax before going to sleep...Of course when he rubs my back for me I just kinda turn into a puddle. He was so sweet, and my back has felt great since last night.
Work again tommorow so Pat will be picking up Larry on his own. I'm just glad that he will be home finally.
Love to All.
PS Mom and Aunt Sue,

My Family is about to Grow!

Hi everyone, well after talking about it pat and I have decided that it is time for our little family to grow. We can't wait until our new addition to our household arrives, it won't be soon enough.

Now Mom I know you are reading this and getting yourself all excited, so before I go any further I should probably let you know that the new addition to our family is of the four legged variety.

We Went to the Humane Society on Friday after talking about it Thursday night, and on Saturday Pat went back and got everything ready for the adoption, and with any luck we will bring home Larry next week. He's an adult Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu mix, and he's just really sweet, Pat walked him yesterday and we went today after I was done work and took him for a short walk. I can't wait to get him home, he's already spoiled and he isn't here yet, Pat picked up a huge pet pillow, a cushy pet bed, toys, his own towel treats....and how could you not spoil him...

Here is his picture. Love to All.

7 degrees in the Sun

Well as the title says, it is 7 degrees in the sun, the snow is melting, they took care of the roads here in the Q's, taking them down to bare pavement. It's nice to actually see the road...Pat shoveled s ome of the snow away form the house while I went next door to check on the neighbors house. I have been taking care of it since they are gone away.
Actually came back and sat on the front step for a couple of minutes. I've got my front and back doors open with the windows open on my screen doors letting the fresh air through, it feels really nice.
Pat's team won last night 9 to 2, go Benders. I always enjoy watching him play, he got 3 goals..Go Pat.
Anyway, I am hoping our weather is taking a turn for the better and that Spring is coming.
Take Care and Love to All.

Good Evening

Well Pat's still sick, but he has obligations to fulfill, tonight that would be cadets. So his supper is in the refrigerator waiting for him, and I am just about ready to head to bed.
I called the girls tonight, they were surprised to hear from me. I love doing that to them.
Right now I'm relaxing in the living room, and I'm watching Miami Ink. I really like this show but I have only watched it like twice since I have been out here.
I'm enjoying my down time. In other words I had the day off...I work tommorow. I am off again on Thursday, I'll probably make Pat his apple crisp then, that shoould perk him up a bit.
He's back to work next week, and I am hoping that he will be feeling better before his leave is done, at least maybe then he can enjoy some of his time off.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone.
Love to Al.

Rest

Well rest is what I would have liked to have done today, but the house isn't going to clean itself, and htat is fine too, I made a list and did everything on it, so I'm happy.
I was hoping to be able to go out wiht Pt tonight, I asaked him if he'd like to go to super and maybe a movie, super he said was doable, but as to the movie, well he really isn't feeling very good, which seems to happen everytime he is about to go on leave. He said it was up to me where we go but I really don't want to drag him out when he isn't feeling well. I guess we will see what happens...
I love this picture...I think it shows both the beauty and the harshness of winter, a testament I suppose that there really is a beauty in everything, it's all in the way we choose to view them.
I think we should all take the time to enjoy things while we have the chance to, even if it's just a quiet moment of reflection. It's good for us to reach out and know that it is there.
Love to all.
