Home again

My day summed up...
I have been awake since 4am, started work for 8am.
One of the regular customers is a real sweet heart, he comes in for his breakfast, he always orders a clasic breakfast, overeasy with brown toast and crispy bacon along with his coffee. Anyway today he was in and he looked at Phil(my boss) and asked exactly how many people were working in the store just then, phil told him there were 8 of us total, the man handed him over some money and told him to divide up between the ones that were working right then, it was our Christmas gift from him, so I was given a gift of $5 today, which payed ofr my lunch. A lady game in with a little girl this afternoon, and hte little girl was sick..I found out that the child had just came her from Florida and so she was having alot of firsts here...I found out the child's name is Cheynne(sp?), I brought her over crayons and some paper to color on since they were waiting for someone, before she left she brought me back the crayons and handed me a picture that she had drawn for me, unfortunately I left it at work and by noe it has seen the garbage...She had drawn me a snowman.
Then right before I was done for the day I had a drive-Thru order, I took the order, theman pullled up to the window and let him know how much the order was, took his money handed him his soda and his change and let hm know that his order would be right up..Now I always make sure that I say please and thank you when I take the orders and the money from the customers, which confuses some of them, but as I was told on Saturday morning by a customer, I was the friendliest and most polite waitress they had ever had and she wished service was so good everywhere..I told the woman that I was taught to use my manners and that it didn't matter how far away I was, that if my mother caught me not using my manneers she would whack me, she said, "You were raised right."

Well I guess the politeness and kindness rubs people the right wawy, I went to bag the gentlemen's order and when I cme back and opened the drive-Thru window to hand it to him and to say have a nice day he looked at me and smiled and said because I was so polite and gave him such good service he just had to give me something and handed me a toonie.

After Pat picked me up, I got him to stop at the MFRC so I could pick up me Carmen and my Support our troops t-shirts, picked us up a treat at the Canex and was imstructed on the driv ehome htat I was to get a hot shower and come up to bed and rest and stay warm(which is where I am right now), as I haven't been feelign so good the last couple of days.
Went to come in the house and before I got my second foot in the screen door caught my boot and almost fell, which was funny in and of itself and then add Pat's reaction...priceless.

And tommorow I start at 8am all over again.
Good thing I really do like my job.
Love to you all.

Cracked Pots

I thought this would be a nice little story to share with all of you...Love to you All.

The Cracked Pot
An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house." The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them." "For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house." Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them. So, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

My girls

Wel as most people know there isn't much that I wouldn't do for these 3 young ladies.
Today they got to open up a parcel from me containing letters and bead jewellery kits from me, but they also got something special.
I always sang to my girls at night, or I would sing with them...When I call them I am usually asked if I will sing to them and I usually do.
Well Imade up a tape for them of songs that I used to sing to them.
I recieved a brief e-mail from Mom while I was on my MSn saying that the girls had just got it and were crying so I called them right away and sure enough I could here the tape playing and my girls crying. I talked to all of them and then to their Mom, and then I was sang to by Chelsea, Chantal was going to sing to me her part for the Christmas concert but couldn't remember the tune so she recited for me the lines.
I am so proud of the girls, all of them love music, and I am glad that I could help put music in their lives, they enjoy singing and that makes me happy because it was something that I would do with them.
Love to you all.

Here is to...

Well good morning all, it is 9am, Pat just got up and went to get his shower...He came in and asked me if it was done snowing yet and I told him no so he told me to have fun walking to work*L*. Of course he is kidding, he is just getting tired of the snow, and I told him I want more of it. So I asked him i he wanted to know how much we were going to get today, silly boy shouldn't have said yes, I told him 2cm and he groaned.when you look outside it really isn't all that deep compared to what we have been getting down home over the past few winters.
One of the kids complained to me when I called the other night that they haven' gotten any snow yet, I told her not to worry, I didn't bring it all with me.
So right now the temperature is -18 with a windchill of -26, which isn't really so bad in comparison of what we have had so far and the fact that the predicted windchill for tommorow is -34.
So here is to hot chocolate, cider, coffee or tea, something to warm your bones.
Here is to bundling up, comfy slippers and fluffy blankets.
To hot showers and long bubble baths.
To warm hugs and cuddling.
And of course my love to you.
Have a good one.
PS
Pat put up the tree.

a little Nun"sense"

Thought I would share this with you all, it being Sunday and all. I thought it was cute...

Best Little Convent In Texas
A man is driving down a deserted stretch of highwaywhen he notices a sign out of the corner of his eye. It reads:
SISTERS OF ST. FRANCISHOUSE OF PROSTITUTION10 MILES He thinks it was a figment of his imagination and hedrives on without second thought. Soon he sees anothersign, which says: SISTERS OF ST. FRANCISHOUSE OF PROSTITUTION5 MILESSuddenly, he begins to realize that these signs are for real.....
Then he drives past a third sign saying:
SISTERS OF ST.FRANCISHOUSE OF PROSTITUTIONNEXT RIGHTHis curiosity gets the best of him and he pulls intothe drive. On the far side of the parking lot is a stone building with a small sign next to the doorreading: SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS
He climbs the steps and rings the bell. The door is answered by a nun in a long black habit who asks,"What may we do for you, my son?"
He answers, "I saw your signs along the highway, and was interested in possibly doing business."
"Very well, my son. Please follow me."The man is led through many winding passages and is soon quite disorientated. The nun stops at a closed doorand tells the man, "Please knock on this door." He does as he is told and another nun in a long habit, holding a tin cup answers the door. This nuninstructs, "Please place $100 in the cup, then go through the large wooden door at the end of thishallway."
He gets $100 out of his wallet and places it in the second nuns cup.He trots eagerly down the hall and slips through thedoor, pulling it shut behind him. As the door locks behind him, he finds himself back in the parking lot, facing another small sign:
GO IN PEACE. YOU HAVE JUST BEEN SCREWEDBY THE SISTERS OF ST. FRANCIS SERVES YOU RIGHT, YOU LOUSY SINNER!

The Holiday Season

Well here it is almost the end of Novemeber, the holiday's are fast approaching, and in a time where many people seem to forget why it is we celebrate I was sent an e-mail this morning that seems to illustrate that this is the season of hope love and togetherness and instead of sending it to a select few people on my e-mail list I thought I would share it with you al here on my Blog. so here it is.

(Tissue Alert...)

Always believe in MIRACLES!! Three years ago, a little boy and his grandmother came to see Santa at Mayfair Mall in Wisconsin. The child climbed up on his lap, holding a picture of a little girl.
"Who is this?" asked Santa, smiling. "Your friend? Your sister?"

"Yes, Santa," he replied. "My sister, Sarah, who is very sick," he said sadly.

Santa glanced over at the grandmother who was waiting nearby, and saw her dabbing her eyes with a tissue.

"She wanted to come with me to see you, oh, so very much, Santa!" the child exclaimed. "She misses you," he added softly.

Santa tried to be cheerful and encouraged a smile to the boy's face, asking him what he wanted Santa to bring him for Christmas.
When they finished their visit, the Grandmother came over to help the child off his lap, and started to say something to Santa, but halted.

"What is it?" Santa asked warmly.

"Well, I know it's really too much to ask you, Santa, but .." the old woman began, shooing her grandson over to one of Santa's elves to collect the little gift which Santa gave all his young visitors. "The girl in the photograph... my granddaughter well, you see ... she has leukemia and isn't expected to make it even through the holidays," she said through tear-filled eyes. "Is there any way, Santa . any possible way that you could come see Sarah? That's all she's asked for, for Christmas, is to see Santa."

Santa blinked and swallowed hard and told the woman to leave information with his elves as to where Sarah was, and he would see what he could do. Santa thought of little else the rest of that afternoon. He knew what he had to do. "What if it were MY child lying in that hospital bed, dying," he thought with a sinking heart, "this is the least I can do."

When Santa finished visiting with all the boys and girls that evening, he retrieved from his helper the name of the hospital where Sarah was staying. He asked the assistant location manager how to get to Children's Hospital.

"Why?" Rick asked, with a puzzled look on his face.

Santa relayed to him the conversation with Sarah's grandmother earlier that day. "C'mon.... I'll take you there," Rick said softly.

Rick drove them to the hospital and came inside with Santa. They found out which room Sarah was in. A pale Rick said he would wait out in the hall.

Santa quietly peeked into the room through the half-closed door and saw little Sarah on the bed. The room was full of what appeared to be her family; there was the Grandmother and the girl's brother he had met earlier that day. A woman whom he guessed was Sarah's mother stood by the bed, gently pushing Sarah's thin hair off her forehead. And another woman who he discovered later was Sarah's aunt, sat in a chair near the bed with weary, sad look on her face. They were talking quietly, and Santa could sense the warmth and closeness of the family, and their love and concern for Sarah. Taking a deep breath, and forcing a smile on his face, Santa entered the room, bellowing a hearty, "Ho, ho, ho!"

"Santa!" shrieked little Sarah weakly, as she tried to escape her bed to run to him, IVtubes in tact. Santa rushed to her side and gave her a warm hug. A child the tender age of his own son -- 9 years old -- gazed up at him with wonder and excitement. Her skin was pale and her short tresses bore telltale bald patches from the effects of chemotherapy. But all he saw when he looked at her was a pair of huge, blue eyes. His heart melted, and he had to force himself to choke back tears. Though his eyes were riveted upon Sarah's face, he could hear the gasps and quiet sobbing of the women in the room.

As he and Sarah began talking, the family crept quietly to the bedside one by one, squeezing Santa's shoulder or his hand gratefully, whispering "thank you" as they gazed sincerely at him with shining eyes. Santa and Sarah talked and talked, and she told him excitedly all the toys she wanted for Christmas, assuring him she'd been a very good girl that year. As their time together dwindled, Santa felt led in his spirit to pray for Sarah, and asked for permission from the girl's mother. She nodded in agreement and the entire family circled around Sarah's bed, holding hands. Santa looked intensely at Sarah and asked her if she believed in angels.

"Oh, yes, Santa... I do!" she exclaimed.

"Well, I'm going to ask that angels watch over you, "he said. Laying one hand on the child's head, Santa closed his eyes and prayed. He asked that God touch little Sarah, and heal her body from this disease. He asked that angels minister to her, watch and keep her. And when he finished praying, still with eyes closed, he started singing softly, "Silent Night, Holy Night.... all is calm, all is bright." The family joined in, still holding hands, smiling at Sarah, and crying tears of hope, tears of joy for this moment, as Sarah beamed at them all. When the song ended, Santa sat on the side of the bed again and held Sarah's frail, small hands in his own.

"Now, Sarah, "he said authoritatively, "you have a job to do, and that is to concentrate on getting well. I want you to have fun playing with your friends this summer, and I expect to see you at my house at Mayfair Mall this time next year!" He knew it was risky proclaiming that, to this little girl who had terminal cancer, but he "had" to. He had to give her the greatest gift he could -- not dolls or games or toys -- but the gift of HOPE.

"Yes, Santa! "Sarah exclaimed, her eyes bright.

He leaned down and kissed her on the forehead and left the room. Out in the hall, the minute Santa's eyes met Rick's, a look passed between them and they wept unashamed. Sarah's mother and grandmother slipped out of the room quicklyand rushed to Santa's side to thank him.

"My only child is the same age as Sarah," he explained quietly. "This is the least I could do." They nodded with understanding and hugged him.

One year later, Santa Mark was again back on the set in Milwaukee for his six-week, seasonal job which he so loves to do. Several weeks went by and then one day a child came up to sit on his lap. "Hi, Santa! Remember me?!"

"Of course, I do," Santa proclaimed (as he always does), smiling down at her.

After all, the secret to being a "good" Santa is to always make each child feel as if they are the "only" child in the world at that moment.

"You came to see me in the hospital last year!" Santa's jaw dropped.

Tears immediately sprang in his eyes, and he grabbed this little miracle and held her to his chest. "Sarah!" he exclaimed. He scarcely recognized her,for her hair was long and silky and her cheeks were rosy -- much different from the little girl he had visited just a year before. He looked over and saw Sarah's mother and grandmother in the sidelines smiling and waving and wiping their eyes.

That was the best Christmas ever for Santa Claus. He had witnessed --and been blessed to be instrumental in bringing about -- this miracle of hope.

This precious little child was healed. Cancer-free. Alive and well. He silently looked up to Heaven and humbly whispered, "Thank you, Father. 'Tis a very, Merry Christmas!

Bed Rest X 2

Got to love the irony, and since Pat has already been a tattle tale and told Mom I lose nothing.
Pat and I are both laid up today, he had surgery yesterday and my kneecap went out this morning. We called our neighbor to come and help but we were u nable to wake him up with the phone, so Pat put it back for me....I cried so much I shocked myself...What a pair we make.

At least we were safe inside away form the cold. Did I forget to mention that it snowed last night, we got about as much snow as we had before hand, so put that on top of the mess we already had and we have some decent snow.*S*
I told Pat we were going to get more, and he asked this morning if he should send me back home, I told him if he shipped me back I would leave the snow here for him.

So today was rather uneventful. For those of you who read the blog of funnyface you have seen the recent picture of me and a little one. Well she had a sleep over here Monday night with her Aunt Tam and Uncle Pat, and then spent the majority of yesterday here as her mother went into labor. So now the little one has a baby sister. Can't wait to see the new arrival.

Off to work

It isn't often that I get really ticked off with someone that I say something to them, but htere is this one girl that I work with who likes to socialize more than she likes to work, thus going out evry night etc.
Well Thursday night she went out and although she went home early she got plastered quickly.
Anyway she came to work yesterday just dragging, and because she wasn't feeling the best and was tired she was cranky, well later she started snapping at me and finally I had enough and raised my voice to her, I told her to stop snapping at me for now reasonand that going there wasn't a good idea.
I did this in front of a supervisor and in front of customers...I didn't like doing it, I don't like myself when I get like that, and she really didn't take me seriously.
Now I have to go in and work with her again this morning.
Here is hoping that she doesn't do it again today, I am so not in the mood for it, and for those who know me well, you know I have a temper, although I keep it under control. Heaven forbid I should actually let loose on this girl, even t hough she does deserve it.
Talked to Mom last night on MSN with the webcam on.
Now Pat rubs my back and I just kind of melt, it is jus tso relaxing, well he started to rub my back while I was talking to Mom and I just kind of layed down on my desek while he was doing it, Poor Mom, she thought I was crying and called me right away, I re-assured her that I was completely fine and then I let her talkk to Pat as he was still rubbing my back, and he explained to her that is how he relaxes me and that I just kinda turn into a puddle.
So Mom, thnak you for the concern, it was very sweet of you to worry like that.
Love to you All.

SNOW!!!

I think htis picture is almost accurate for us, put another inch or two on top of it and yeah there you go.
We are supposed to get 2cm more today, I shoveled the driveway htis morning while Pat showered and ate.
I really don't mind the shoveling, the last few winters down home have made sure I'm ready for the snow here, Pat said that what we have now is what they had total here last year.
Oh well I told him over the summer that I brought the snow with me. He must believbe me now as he keeps saying he is shipping me back to Yarmouth just to get rid of the snow..I told him, hey I brought it here I can leave it too.
Anyway, gotta go shovel my pregnant neighbors driveway so she can take me to work.
Lots of Love to you all.

Hey All

As my mother disclosed yesterday was in fact my birthday, my 30th birthday at that.
Pat bought me a pair of slippers and the DVD game Scene It: Disney Edition, and he presented me with a birthday cake last night after he h ad come home from band practice last night, he had picked it up earlier in the day and hid it downstairs, and tonight he is taking me out for dinner.
He really is too sweet...I'm not big on birthday gifts or christmas gifts for myself, I would rather give than recieve, and as nice as all of this is, part of me wants to tell him he is going overboard, but it makes him feel good to be able to do this for me, and that makes me feel good. I Love him so very much.
I had a very nice surprise at work as well when I was presented with a black forest cake for my birthday that my boss bought. So for about 10 minutes there was no staff in the front of the store, good thing it wasn't busy and yes we were keeping an eye out for customers.
My boss is a really good guy, and it was very sweet of him to get me a cake for my birthday, a little something that he likes to do for his employees.
I was sent an e-card from ter and Mady and from my neighbors.
I may not have been home, but I had a good birthday.
Mom even called me before I went to work, and I called Angie after work and Brittany read me the card shes made for me.
So while I may not have been with my family and friends like I usually am, I was with new friends, and with Pat, and he is my family here.
Oh and before I forget, the picture I have on my bog is the picture for the card that Ter and Mady sent me. Thank you Ter.
Love To You All.
PS Pat had to shovel the driveway this morning.

It's National friendship week

This was sent to me by a friend of mine and I wanted to share it with all of you.
If you would like to pass this message on and keep the circle going copy it and send it to the people you care about.
My Love to you all.

NAIL IN THE FENCE
Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.
(Most importantly the last sentence)
There once was a little boy who had a bad
temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails
and told him that every time he lost his
temper, he must hammer a nail into the back
of the fence. The first day the boy had
driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next
few weeks, as he learned to control his
anger, the number of nails hammered daily
gradually dwindled down. He discovered
it was easier to hold his temper than to
drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't
lose his temper at all. He told his father
about it and the father suggested that the
boy now pull out one nail for each day that
he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally
able to tell his father that all the nails
were gone. The father took his son by the
hand and led him to the fence He said, "You
have done well, my son, but look at the
holes in the fence. The fence will never be
the same. When you say things in anger,
they leave a scar just like this one. You
can put a knife in a man and draw it out.
It won't matter how many times you say I'm
sorry, the wound is still there. " A verbal
wound is as bad as a physical one.
Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They
make you smile and encourage you to succeed.
They lend an ear, they share words of praise
and they always want to open their hearts to us."

YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole.

A Joke

A tour bus driver is driving with a bus full of seniors down a highway when he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady. She offers him a handful of peanuts, which he gratefully munches up. After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and she hands him another handful of peanuts. She repeats this gesture about five more times. When she is about to hand him another batch again he asks the little old lady why they don't eat the peanuts themselves. "We can't chew them because we've no teeth", she replied. The puzzled driver asks, "Why do you buy them then?" The old lady replied, "We just love the chocolate around them." It pays to be careful around old people.

Bed Rest

Alright, begrudgingly bed rest today is actually in my bed...Pat made sure I was warm and comfy before he left today, and since I brought my lap top upstairs last night I grabbed a couple of movies, my apple juice and cheesies(very important) and have settled in...I had a shower(which always feels good)and crawled back under the covers..I have watched the first movie, went down to re-stock my cheesies and take some more tylenol for my fever...I made the mistake of looking out the window... Three guesses as to what it is doing outside....
Give up yet?
Well if you guessed snowing you would be correct...
I am so happy to be under the blanket's right now...I am getting ready to watch my second movie...The Grinch that Stole Christmas...
so..I guess as they say...Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Of Apple Juice and Cheesies

Alright, I know some of you are probably wondering what the heck is this about.

Well Mom already knows and can verify this...

when I was little, and sick like I am now, my Papa would always bring me apple juice and a big bag of Humty Dumpty Cheesies to make me feel better, and you know what? It always worked...So Now when I am sick I want what Papa always brought me...Apple juice to settle my stomache and Cheesies because I don't have to chew them(big rule..got to suck on them), and easy on the stomache. Tonight Pat had band, he came home with apple juice and cheesies for me...Thank you hun.

2 blogs in one day wow

Just a quick note...
I've been running a temp the past couple of days...came home early from work last night and not going today...which makes me feel even worse.
Anyway Tenielle is leaving for Lac La Biche on the 6th so I won't see her fr 3 weeks so she brought me over my b-day gift today as well as a card to say get well..
She really is a good friend and I feel so lucky to have her in my life.

A Memory

Well I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween..I had to work the night shift for it, which really sucks for me as Halloween is one of the best times of the year for me....
I remember one year when Dad had hit a deer a few days before Halloween...Welll that year Dad was at work andso Mom got Uncle Bruce to take us up the road so that wee could go trick or treating at Mema's and Papa's and to Aunt Nonnie and uncle Eddie's homes...Well on the way back we saw kids fleeing our yard..Mom had went up to Grampy's house and got a leg off of the deer with the tendons hanging out..she put a couple of blood clots on her face and pulled a nyhlon over her head, she then put the leg in the arm of one of Dad's doe skin coats and put it on..well she would pull on the tendon's making the hoove move it looked really cool...Anyway, back then we had a bus cabin, Mom waited in the bus cabin for kids to come into the yard and would jump out and scare the bejeebers out of them...It was awesome and something I will always remember.
Lots of Love to All.
